“How long was the off-season?,” Smith joked when asked how long he partied for on Fox League’s Sunday Night with Matty Johns.

“Nah, so, probably partied for four or four-and-half days with Munster and the club had to pull us up because we had this signing sesh but we were partying with everyone and slowly cruised elsewhere.

“I ended up with Munster and we were out on the balcony just singing songs together at the Twin Waters resort we were staying at. We were watching Bellamy wake up, going for a run and throwing chat at him and another night we would go on and same thing, Bellamy wake up, go for a run and throwing chat at him again.

“That went on for a couple of days. It was a hell of an adventure.”

While the Storm spent the majority of the season away from home it only brought the playing group together, as did the end-of-season celebrations after the premiership victory.

“The best thing about it was there was no outside noise, we were stuck in this Twin Waters resort and it was only us boys and our partners around but the partners weren’t around too much,” Smith added.

“There was no media coming in and interrupting anything, it was one of the best things that could have ever happened to us, that whole Twin Waters thing.”

Another comment, this one sent in from Smith’s mother, said he was not the best player in the family and the Storm star again had a hilarious response to that claim.

“That’s my mum,” Smith said.

“I am definitely the best player in my family. That is probably my older brother. It says Dilly Baggins there, we call him Dyldo Baggins.
